When using for the first time

Before using your Menastyl enameled cast iron fondue pot for the first time, it is recommended to wash it in hot soapy water, then rinse it well and dry it.

Using your fondue pot or set

When using your fondue pot, be sure to heat the pot gradually. Enameled cast iron distributes heat evenly, but too sudden a change in temperature can cause the enamel to crack. Also, be careful with metal utensils inside fondue pots, as they can scratch the enamel.

Our cast iron fondue sets are compatible with several types of heat: electric hotplates, gas stoves and induction for the fondue pots alone.

After use

Before cleaning your fondue pot, let it cool completely. Direct contact with cold water while the pot is still hot can cause cracks in the enamel. Wash the fondue pot by hand with warm water and a soft sponge. Avoid abrasive detergents and metal scourers that could damage the enamel. For more stubborn residue, fill the fondue pot with warm, soapy water and let it soak before gently scrubbing. Once washed, dry the elements carefully with a soft cloth to avoid any traces of moisture that could create stains.

Long term maintenance

Store your fondue pot in a dry place to prevent moisture from damaging the enamel. If you stack several enameled cast iron utensils, place a soft cloth between them to protect the enamel.

Additional tips

Never place a hot fondue pot directly on a cold surface or in cold water, the thermal shock could crack the enamel.

Although the fondue pot is made of enameled cast iron, it is not suitable for microwave use due to safety risks and deterioration of the enamel.
